Finally, after what has felt like a lifetime waiting for the Adoption Team to collate all our paperwork, checks to come back and for the Adoption Managers to meet, we have been accepted to proceed to stage two. This is where the hard work really begins.
We were notified by phone and at the same time offered a choice of two dates for the third, and I believe final, day of the APT. Of course we choose the one that was soonest. A few days later we received the letter of confirmation for us to proceed, yay, but it also said that due to resourcing issues we would likely have a wait before being allocated a social worker 🙁
However, I came home on Friday to two messages and an email from our newly allocated social worker asking to meet us 🙂 Granted the first date offered is far too short notice, the second we are on the APT and the third, well hopefully we can both get the time off to make that date. So, another full on day to come at the APT on Wednesday, and then hopefully we’ll start our home study with OUR social worker the following week. Eeeek, exciting and stressful times ahead.
