As the title says I’m fed up. I’m several weeks in to taking Metformin and I’m not seeing any difference. I was lead to believe it would help with weight loss but for me I’ve just plateaued, when I was previously doing so well sans Metformin. All it seems to have done for me is give me nausea, and I swing between constipation and diarrhoea. Also, I now have an ever increasing list of foods I can’t stomach, because the thought of eating them literally makes me want to throw up!
Courgettes
Roasted peppers
Cauliflower
Gammon and ham
Sweet potatoes
Salt & Vinegar crisps
Melted cheese
Tuna pasta bake
Yorkshire puddings
Then there’s mildly spicy and/or greasy food which now gives me heartburn. Anything more than mildly spiced sets my mouth on fire.
Another thing; now this could just be coincidence but my temperatures are all over the place and I’m on cd28 and haven’t ovulated yet. I’ve felt twinges but nothing. Anybody else out there on Metformin have delayed ovulation?
So yes, I’m fed up. Fed up that food I previously enjoyed now makes me want to be sick. Fed up I’m not losing any more weight. Fed up that I’ve not ovulated. Heck, just fed up with this whole journey full stop, and wondering when we’ll finally catch a break and have a chance to be truly happy again.

Firstly, I missed you hon! Was worried about where you had disappeared to as I always seemed to miss your tweets!
Secondly, with you on the weight thing- I think we’ve made the decision to have a go with PGD and so I shall have to get my weight down before that starts. Not sure how I want to do it- through a fat club or by myself. Also I need to build in some exercise other than walking to the bus stop and taking the dog out! I’m thinking maybe doing GI diet and yoga as I am a ball of stress right now and nothing is being done right!
Either way, I’m sad that things are still crap (I truly believe that there is a list of people’s names who are down for a bad 2013) but every single one of us going through this shit, is standing next to you. We’re all holding your hand xxx

Ah, I’m still about hun, just been a bit of quiet of late both on my blog and Twitter.
I’m glad you’ve come to a decision about the PGD. I don’t know about you, but I always feel more positive once I’ve made my mind up about something. I totally hear ya re the exercise, I’m pretty naff at it – I used to walk 40 minutes each day by walking from bus stop to work and vice versa, but now I work elsewhere and park right outside! I started a low GI diet but struggled with it a bit, though to be fair I didn’t try that hard. I did have success with the 5:2 diet, losing 18lbs, but I think I’m going to try low GI again.
I think you’re right about that list; I hope it means all our names are down for a fantastic 2014. Thanks hun, standing beside you too xx

Hi Tee
as much as my Diabetes nurse says Metformin is weight neutral – it hasnt been for me ! Totally agree with you it is annoying – all I can suggest is low GI diet and exercise – Good luck xxxx
