Wow, what a busy few months we’ve had. Unfortunately going forward I won’t be able to share everything with you, my lovely readers and supporters, but I will be as open as I can. Following on from our medicals and DBS checks being sent off we had the first part of our adoption training or APT as it is known…. Read More
Medical
I had my medical check today as part of Stage One of the adoption process; Mr R had his on Friday. We’d both been sent forms to complete and take along to the medicals for our GP to complete the rest. It was all pretty straight forward stuff, asking about our medical history and whether our immediate families were in… Read More
Adoption: Stage One
We’ve been approved! Approved to start Stage One of the adoption process, yay!! We received the report from Mrs Pink, a few errors in it which need amending but in all a pretty good initial report. We’ve also been booked on to the Stage One training sessions for August. Our criminal record background checks are underway and references will soon… Read More
Adoption: Pre-Stage Initial Home Visit
Today we had our Adoption Pre-Stage home visit, and she was late! She being the Social Worker, who we’ll refer to as Mrs Pink. First Step to Adoption

Friday, 23rd May! I know the Government have put new guidelines in place to speed up the… Read More
Moving Forward
I know, I know it’s been an absolute age since I last updated my blog *slaps wrists* but I’m going to rectify that now. As you’ll know, after the ectopic last year we were referred to the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic for numerous blood tests, which were thankfully all fine. However, fine means that we have no explanation for the losses… Read More
Gratitude Journal
Whilst visiting with my Mum today she mentioned she had started keeping a Gratitude Journal; something she’d seen on Oprah ages ago, and she thought I should start one too. My initial thought was “what have I to be grateful for”?! After all the past few years have been filled with heartache and hard times, for me personally, as well… Read More
8 Years
I can’t believe today marks 8 years since we officially started trying for a family. Today is also a year since the Ectopic was diagnosed, although surgery didn’t take place until the following morning. I never believed 8 years ago that we wouldn’t have our family by now, and I didn’t believe a year ago that we wouldn’t at least… Read More
