I was recently asked if I’d like to review a product called Balance Activ Conceive. In the past I’ve said no to reviews as I’ve felt the products haven’t really been in keeping with the subject of my blog. However, after looking over the Balance Activ website I decided this product was something I and my readers would be interested in, so here is my first ever review.
At some point in their life, most couples will use lubricants during sex, whether it be during foreplay or intercourse, or both. Whilst these are fine to use on a regular basis, they aren’t good to use whilst trying to conceive, as most are too thick and will either slow sperm down or trap them completely. That said, lubricants aren’t a contraceptive! So, what choice is there if you like to use, or need to use lubricant during intercourse but are trying to conceive?
This is where Balance Activ Conceive Fertility Gel comes in. It’s sperm friendly, and with its key ingredient being Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which is naturally present in the vagina and cervical fluid, it is designed to help maintain the ideal pH balance.
Balance Activ Conceive is available as a spray gel, or in hygienic pre-filled individual applicators. We tried the applicators, which come in a box of six. We found the gel to be light in texture, and unlike other fertility lubricants we’ve used, it didn’t become sticky if rubbed on the skin. Although the applicators are designed to be used once, I found there was just a little too much in them, so rather than waste what was left over, we used the remaining gel as an external lube.
Pros: light, non-sticky, odourless, generous dosage, and easy to use. Individual applicators are handy if going away as you haven’t got to worry about opened bottles or tubes leaking in your luggage.
Cons: the applicators take the spontaneity out of sex as you need to insert the gel beforehand, so for me I’d rather use the spray gel, but that’s just my personal preference.
If you’d like to try Balance Activ Conceive Fertility Gel for yourself you can purchase it here and the spray gel is available from Boots.
I was kindly given some samples of Balance Activ Conceive to try free of charge, but all opinions of this product are my own.

We used Conceive Plus when we got our first baby, so I went back to Boots to buy it for baby no 2! Only we find this one instead. We decided to try the spray and DH got the applicators from online, BUT we really didn’t like the sensation of either! Spraying is just so….anyway TMI lol Afterwards I read on other blogs that Balance Activ Conceive is the same formula as Zestica with the acid, as far as I know there is no studies to show that is helps sperm, so maybe thats why it didn’t work. Its so stressful I just want it to be easy like our first baby! We stopped using and got some more Conceive Plus, hope it does the trick again.
